The magnificent urfly (scientific name: Archaeophya magnifica) is a special type of dragonfly. It belongs to a group of insects called Gomphomacromiidae. This amazing insect is quite large. It has a shiny, metallic-black body with bright yellow spots. Its wings are clear, allowing you to see right through them.
This dragonfly is found only in one specific place on Earth. It is endemic to north-east Queensland, Australia. This means it lives naturally nowhere else in the world! You can usually find it flying around rainforest streams in that area.
