Magno Alves de Araújo, born on January 13, 1976, is a famous Brazilian former footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was responsible for scoring goals.
People also knew him by his cool nickname, O Magnata, which means "The Magnate" or "The Big Shot".

Magno Alves' Football Journey
Magno Alves was born in Aporá, a city in Bahia, Brazil. He played for many different football clubs during his long career.
Early Years and Fluminense
From 1998 to 2003, Magno Alves played for Fluminense. He was a very important player for them. He played in 265 matches and scored 111 goals. During this time, his team won the Rio State Championship in 2002.
One of his most famous games was against Santa Cruz. In that match, he scored an amazing 5 goals! This incredible performance earned him the nickname Magnata.
Playing in Asia
After his time at Fluminense, Magno Alves played in the Korean Professional Football League. Then, he moved to Japan to play for Oita Trinita in the Japan Professional Football League.
In 2006, he joined Gamba Osaka, another big team in Japan. He was brought in to replace their star striker.
Return to Brazil and Ceará
In July 2010, Magno Alves returned to Brazil. He signed a contract with the club Ceará. He became a legend at Ceará. He scored 103 goals in 224 matches for the club. This made him the 6th highest goal scorer in Ceará's history!
By August 7, 2021, he had scored more than 483 goals in over 986 official matches throughout his career.
Retirement and Comeback
On July 28, 2022, Magno Alves announced that he was retiring from playing football. However, he made a special comeback in 2025. At 49 years old, he returned to play for Atlético Cearense. The amazing part is that he played alongside his son, Pedrinho!
