The magpie-robins, also known as shamas, are a group of medium-sized birds. They mostly eat insects. Some types also enjoy berries and other fruits. These birds belong to two main groups, called genera: Copsychus and Trichixos.
Magpie-robins were once thought to be part of the thrush family. Now, scientists consider them to be part of the Old World flycatcher family, Muscicapidae.
