Maimón is a lively town located in the Monseñor Nouel province of the Dominican Republic. It's nestled in a small valley, surrounded by mountains. Four rivers – Maimón, La Leonora, Yuna, and Zinc – flow around it, making the area green and fertile.
Long ago, when the first European settlements were being built in the area, people living in a nearby town called Bonao needed an easy way to reach Concepción de la Vega. This was where the main government offices were located at the time. The very first settlement of Bonao was actually in a small place known today as Sonador.
