Mainland facts for kids
Mainland is a term that simply means a large landmass or continent. It can also mean the largest of a group of islands. Sometimes the people who live on a mainland are called "mainlanders". Because of its larger area, a mainland almost always has a much larger population than nearby islands. Mainlander culture and politics sometimes threaten to dominate those of the islands.
