Malalai Bahaduri is a brave police officer from Afghanistan who became a Second Lieutenant and a top teacher in a special police group called the Afghan National Interdiction Unit (NIU). She is famous for being the first woman to join this important unit.
Before becoming a police officer, Malalai worked with telephones and radios as a telecommunications operator. But in 2002, after a group called the Taliban was removed from power, she decided she wanted to help her country by joining law enforcement.
