Malin Birgitta Baryard-Johnsson (born April 10, 1975) is a talented Swedish horse rider. She competes in show jumping, which is a sport where riders guide horses over obstacles. Malin started riding horses when she was just six years old. She quickly became a very skilled show jumper. By the age of 14, she had already won a gold medal in the Swedish Championships.

Malin's Amazing Riding Career
Malin Baryard-Johnsson has achieved many great things in her career. She has competed in several Olympic Games and World Equestrian Games. These are some of the biggest events in horse riding.
Early Competitions
Malin first competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics. She placed 49th as an individual rider. Her Swedish team finished 10th. At the 2000 Summer Games, she improved her individual ranking to 20th. The team placed 7th.
Olympic and World Medals
Malin has won several important medals for Sweden.
- At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, her team won a silver medal. This was a huge achievement for Sweden.
- In 2021, at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Malin won an Olympic gold medal. This was for the team jumping event. She also placed 5th in the individual jumping event.
- Malin has also won medals at the World Equestrian Games. She earned a silver medal with her team in 2002.
- Another silver medal came in 2018 at the World Equestrian Games.
- In 2022, she won a gold medal at the World Championships with her team.
- She also has two silver medals from the European Championships in 2001 and 2017.
Working with Butterfly Flip
One of Malin's most famous horses was named H&M Butterfly Flip. They were an amazing team! In 2003, they were named the "FEI Best Horse and Rider Combination." This award goes to the best pair in the world. They finished in the top ten in 21 competitions that year. Malin and Butterfly Flip also did very well in the Show Jumping World Cup Final. They placed third in 2003. They also had top ten finishes in 2002, 2004, and 2007.
