In 1901, the name of the town and its post office changed from Zoar to Manda. This new name came from the daughter of an early postmaster. Her first name was Manda Tschappler. So, the town was named after her!
When Did Manda Disappear?
The post office in Manda closed its doors in 1908. After the post office closed, the town slowly faded away. Over time, people moved away, and Manda became an extinct town, meaning it no longer exists as a populated place.
