Manfred "KILI" Kielnhofer (born January 28, 1967) is an artist from Austria. He is known for his paintings, sculptures, designs, and photographs. He was born in a town called Haslach an der Mühl. However, some of his artworks were removed from public places due to controversial statements he made.

About Manfred Kielnhofer
Manfred "KILI" Kielnhofer went to a technical college in Linz, Austria. He finished his studies there in 1995. He was very interested in technology, design, and art that is part of buildings. These interests led him to create his unique style of art. Since the year 2000, he has worked as a full-time artist in Linz. In 2005, he opened his own art gallery called Artpark in Linz.
Kielnhofer's Artworks
Kielnhofer is most famous for his art project called "Guardians of Time". These are stone statues that look like they are wearing hooded robes. They seem to be moving forward in a special way. Sometimes, a single figure stands alone. Other times, many figures are grouped together, as if they are talking quietly.
Kielnhofer places these statues in public places. You might find them in old castles, mines, town squares, or parks. He installs them without much fuss. This makes them seem even more mysterious. The first of these figures was made in 2006. Since then, Kielnhofer has made and placed these statues all over the world. In 2012, he started making smaller versions of the guardians out of plastic.
In 2009, Kielnhofer started a new type of photography. He built a special water platform in his studio. On this platform, he takes photos of models sitting or lying down. It often looks like they are on a mirror. In 2010, he helped create the idea for the Light Art Biennale Austria 2010. This was a big art show focused on light.
One of his artworks, the "Interlux-Chair," was shown at this art show. This chair is a light art object. It was added to the design collection of the Museum for Applied Arts in Vienna. In 2013, the first life-sized Guardian statues were made from bronze. These were cast at an art foundry. In 2014, very large guardian statues, about 2.2 meters tall, were shown at the Festival of Lights (Berlin) in Berlin. In 2015, he began working with glass at the famous Berengo Studio in Murano, Venice.
In 2016, he created a sculpture of an empty coat. It was made from white Carrara marble. In 2017, his "Bike Guardian rider – time traveler" artwork started its tour.
