Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, born on July 21, 1976, is an important politician and banker from Equatorial Guinea. He has been serving as the prime minister of his country since August 2024. Before becoming prime minister, he was in charge of the national bank for many years.

Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua's Early Life
Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua was born on July 21, 1976. His birthplace was Andom-Onvang, a town in the area of Nsok-Nsomo, Equatorial Guinea. When he was six years old, he moved to Spain. He lived there with his sister in a city called Palma de Mallorca.
In Spain, he finished his first university degree. After that, he went to the University of the Balearic Islands. There, he studied business and economics. He earned degrees in both subjects. Later, he continued his studies at Pompeu Fabra University. In 2005, he received a master's degree in financial management and business accounting.

After finishing his studies at Pompeu Fabra University, Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua worked briefly. He was with the General Directorate of Economy in the Balearic Islands.
Working at Santander Bank
In 2005, he joined Santander Bank. He started at the branch in Palma de Mallorca. He moved up from being an account manager to an executive director. Eventually, he became the general director of the branch. In this role, he managed the bank's work in four different areas. He also helped make important decisions for the bank's main office in Madrid.
Leading the National Bank
In 2012, Osa returned to his home country, Equatorial Guinea. He became the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Banco Nacional de Guinea Ecuatorial (BANGE). This bank is the only private bank based in Equatorial Guinea. It is located in the capital city, Malabo.
When Osa took over BANGE, the bank was almost going bankrupt. He worked hard and successfully helped the bank recover. The magazine Jeune Afrique even called him the bank's "savior." As CEO, he helped the bank grow a lot. By 2017, BANGE had 22 branches. That same year, it opened its first office in Spain. By 2019, BANGE had offices in almost all parts of Equatorial Guinea. He also served on the board of directors for BANGE's office in Cameroon.
Awards and Recognition
Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua received several awards for his leadership at BANGE.
- In 2016, he was named the Equatorial Guinea Banking CEO of the Year.
- BANGE was also named the country's Bank of the Year in the Global Banking & Finance Awards.
- In 2017, The Banker magazine named BANGE the Equatorial Guinea Bank of the Year. They noted how stable the bank was even during a difficult time for the market.
- Osa also received an award from the African Banker in 2019.
- The Banker once again named BANGE the country's Bank of the Year in 2022.
- Starting in 2020, Osa also served as the chairman of the board of directors for the Bange Business School.
Becoming Prime Minister
On August 16, 2024, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo announced that Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua would be the next Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea. He took over from Manuela Roka Botey, who had resigned with her government. The president said the previous government was "ineffective."
In his announcement, the president said Osa would be in charge of the country's "administrative coordination." His appointment happened as Equatorial Guinea was facing economic challenges.
