Manuela Furlan, born on June 30, 1988, is a former Italian rugby player. She was the captain of the Italian national team. Manuela also played for Italy in the 2021 Rugby World Cup. She stopped playing international rugby at the end of 2022.

Manuela Furlan started her international rugby career in 2009. This was when she first played for the Italian national team.
Challenges and Comebacks
At one point, Manuela had a serious shoulder injury. She tore a labrum in her left shoulder. This injury kept her from playing for 18 months. It happened at the start of the Women's Six Nations Championship.
After a long recovery, she returned to the team. She played in a match against Ireland in October 2020. This was part of the 2020 Women's Six Nations Championship.
Scoring Big for Italy
In April 2021, Manuela had an amazing game. She played against Scotland in the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. In that match, she scored a hat-trick. This means she scored three tries in one game!
Professional Player and World Cup
At the beginning of 2022, Manuela Furlan became one of 25 women to get a contract from the Italian Rugby Federation. This meant she was a professional player.
