María Asunción Aramburuzabala was born on May 2, 1963, in Mexico City, Mexico. Her family has a long history in business. Her grandfather, Félix Aramburuzabala, helped start a famous Mexican brewery called Grupo Modelo in 1925. Her father, Pablo Aramburuzabala, also worked as a top executive at this brewery.
