Family Business and Investments

Grupo Modelo, the Mexican brewery, was founded in 1925 by a group of business people, including María Asunción's grandfather, Félix Aramburuzabala. Her father, Pablo Aramburuzabala, was an important leader at the company.

In 1995, her father passed away unexpectedly. After this, many groups tried to take control of her family's share in Grupo Modelo. María Asunción, her mother, and her sister worked together to protect their family's part of the company.

To grow their family's investments, they created a company called Tresalia Capital. The name "Tresalia" means "three allies" in Spanish, referring to the three women. Through Tresalia, they have invested in many large Mexican companies. They also manage investments in real estate, technology, and help create new businesses.

When Grupo Modelo was sold to Anheuser-Busch InBev, a large international beer company, María Asunción reinvested her money into the new company. This allowed her to continue her family's tradition in the beer business.
