Combined events in athletics mean athletes compete in several different track and field events. Their performances in each event are given points, and the athlete with the most points wins.
Heptathlon and Pentathlon
The Heptathlon is a combined event for women that includes seven different events. These are the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200-meter sprint, long jump, javelin throw, and 800-meter run.
The Pentathlon is a combined event that includes five different events. For women indoors, these are the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800-meter run.
What is Triple Jump?
The Triple jump is an athletics event where athletes try to jump as far as possible. They do this by performing a hop, a step, and then a jump. It requires a lot of strength, speed, and coordination.
