Marabanong is a historic mansion located in Jacksonville, Florida. It was built in 1876. This grand house stands on the site of an even older home called Perley Place. Perley Place was a large house built before the American Civil War (this is what "antebellum" means). It was bought by a British scientist named Thomas Basnett in 1870. Sadly, Perley Place was destroyed in a fire.

Marabanong was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 11, 2013. This means it is recognized as an important historical site. The house is located at 4749 River Point Road. A notable person named Eliza Wilbur was also active at this home.

The Story of Marabanong
