Marc Alaimo was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States. He has a son named Michael Antony Alaimo. Michael followed in his father's footsteps in the entertainment world. He is a writer and producer. Michael has worked on popular shows like The Closer and Major Crimes.
Acting Career
Marc Alaimo started his acting journey in the theater. In the 1960s, he performed in many plays. These included classic works by William Shakespeare and new productions. He was part of theater groups in New York and toured across the country. In 1973, he moved to Los Angeles to work in TV and movies.
Alaimo began acting on television in 1971. He often played villainous characters. You might have seen him in shows like Kojak, Gunsmoke, Starsky & Hutch, and Knight Rider. He also appeared in movies. Some of his film roles include The Last Starfighter and Total Recall.
Star Trek Roles
Marc Alaimo is especially famous for his roles in the Star Trek universe. He played several characters in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was the first Romulan character, Commander Tebok, in an episode called "The Neutral Zone". He was also the first Cardassian character, Gul Macet, in the episode "The Wounded".
His most well-known Star Trek role began in 1993. He played the Cardassian character Gul Dukat in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Gul Dukat was a very important recurring character. He appeared in 33 episodes of the series.
Voice Acting and Later Work
Besides live-action roles, Alaimo has also done voice acting. He voiced characters in video games like Call of Juarez (2006) and its prequel Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (2009).
