Marcelle has an older sister named Lee-Anne Keet. Lee-Anne was also a great water polo player for South Africa. She played for the national team too. Marcelle went to Clarendon High School for Girls. This school is in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Her father, Russell Keet, was also a sports star. He used to play canoeing.

Marcelle Keet was an important player for the South African field hockey team. She played in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. This big event took place in Delhi, India. Her team finished in 4th place. She also competed in the 2010 Women's Hockey World Cup. Her team placed 10th in that tournament. Marcelle was also part of the South African team at the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup. In this competition, her team finished in ninth place.
Playing Water Polo
Marcelle Keet also played for the South African water polo team. She competed in the 2013 World Aquatics Championships. This event was held in Barcelona, Spain. Her team finished 15th in the tournament. Her sister, Lee-Anne Keet, was also on the same water polo team. Marcelle also took part in the 2017 World Aquatics Championships.
