The Marcellus Pedrick House, also known as the Pedrick-Lawson House, is a cool old building in Ripon, Wisconsin, United States. It's so important that it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. This means it's a special place worth protecting because of its history.

Today, the Ripon Historical Society owns the house. They keep it as a special historic house museum. This way, people can visit and learn about what life was like in the past!

The Story of the Pedrick House

Building a Home in Ripon

The Marcellus Pedrick House was built by Marcellus Pedrick himself. He built it for his family in the 1850s. Mr. Pedrick had moved to Ripon from New York City in 1849. Imagine moving all that way back then, before cars or planes!

New Families and a Special Gift

After the Pedricks, other families lived in the house. Hollis Atkins and his family lived there from 1903 to 1918. Then, in 1919, a woman named Louisa La Belle moved in. She loved the house very much. Louisa lived there until she passed away in 1973. In her will, she made a wonderful gift: she left the house to the Ripon Historical Society. This gift made sure the house could be saved and shared with everyone as a museum.
