Marcus Vondell Faison (born February 18, 1978) is a former professional basketball player from both Belgium and America. He played as a shooting guard and small forward. Before becoming a pro, he was a standout player at Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas. He then played college basketball for Siena College.

College Basketball Journey

Marcus Faison played college basketball for Siena College in Loudonville, New York, from 1996 to 2000. He was a starter for all four years.

Leading His Team

Marcus was a top scorer for Siena. He helped his team reach the championship game of their conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), three years in a row, from 1997 to 2000.

Playing in Big Tournaments

In 1999, Marcus played in the exciting NCAA tournament. He scored 18 points in a game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. In his final year, 2000, he led Siena to a great record of 24 wins and 9 losses. They also played in another important tournament called the National Invitation Tournament.

Siena College Legacy

When Marcus graduated in 2000, he was the third-highest scorer in Siena College's history. He was also chosen for the All-MAAC First Team three times. In 2006, he was honored as part of the conference's 25th-anniversary team.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Marcus Faison began his professional basketball career in 2000. He played for many different teams around the world until 2015.

Early Career in Belgium

Marcus started his pro career in Belgium with Go-Pass Pepinster from 2000 to 2002. He then joined Spirou Charleroi in Belgium, where he played from 2002 to 2006. During his time with Spirou Charleroi, he won several awards.

Belgian League Success

Marcus was named the Belgian League MVP twice, in 2003 and 2005. He also helped his team win the Belgian League championship two times, in 2003 and 2004. In 2003, his team also won the Belgian Cup.

Playing Around the World

After his time in Belgium, Marcus played for teams in many different countries.

Teams in Europe and Asia

He played for RheinEnergie Köln in Germany in 2006, and then Unicaja Málaga in Spain from 2006 to 2007. He also played for Kyiv in Ukraine (2007–2008), Beşiktaş Cola Turka in Turkey (2008), and ViveMenorca in Spain (2009).

In 2009, he joined Peristeri in Greece. He also played for Dnipro in Ukraine (2010) and returned to Belgium to play for Oostende (2010–2011) and Verviers-Pepinster (2011–2012). Later, he played for teams like Kryvbasbasket in Ukraine, Petron Blaze Boosters in the Philippines, and Armia Tbilisi in Georgia, all in 2012. In 2013, he played for Esteghlal Zarin Qeshm in Iran and KTP-Basket in Finland. His last team was Sint-Niklase Condors in Belgium, where he played from 2014 to 2015.
