Marcus Anthony Georges-Hunt (born March 28, 1994) is a professional basketball player from the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He currently plays for Al Riyadi in the Lebanese Basketball League. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for Georgia Tech.

High School Basketball Journey
Marcus Georges-Hunt went to North Clayton High School. His coach was Martisse Troup. In his final year, he was amazing on the court. He scored about 24 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and made 5 assists per game. He helped his team, the Eagles, win 21 games and reach the state semifinals.
When he finished high school, Marcus was the best scorer in North Clayton's history. He had scored 2,189 points! Experts thought he was a top player. He was ranked among the best small forwards in the country.
College Basketball Experience
After high school, Marcus played college basketball at Georgia Tech. He was a starter for the Yellow Jackets for all four years. During his junior year, he had a foot injury and missed some games.
In his senior year, he was a key player. He helped his team reach the 2016 National Invitation Tournament. The year before, their record was 12 wins and 19 losses. But with Marcus, they improved a lot. He averaged 16.9 points per game in his senior season. He was also named to the Third Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Marcus Georges-Hunt started his professional basketball career. He played for several teams in the NBA G League and also had chances to play in the NBA.
Starting in the G League
Marcus was not chosen in the 2016 NBA draft. But he joined the Brooklyn Nets for the 2016 NBA Summer League. Later, he signed with the Boston Celtics but was waived. On October 31, 2016, he joined the Maine Red Claws in the NBA Development League. This was a team connected to the Celtics.
Playing in the NBA
In February 2017, Marcus signed a short contract with the Miami Heat. This helped the team because many players were injured. He was even sent to play in the NBA Development League All-Star Game. After his contract ended, he went back to the Maine Red Claws.
Later, on April 3, 2017, Marcus signed with the Orlando Magic. He played for them in the Summer League too. Then, in August 2017, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played 42 games for the Timberwolves. In one game against the Toronto Raptors, he scored a career-high 12 points.
Return to the G League
In 2018, Marcus returned to the Maine Red Claws. However, he got a season-ending injury in December 2018. After recovering, in January 2022, he joined the College Park Skyhawks in the NBA G League. He averaged 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 28 games for them.
International Success
Marcus also played basketball in other countries. In May 2022, he signed with Mets de Guaynabo in Puerto Rico.
In October 2022, he joined Kuwait SC. He helped them win their first-ever Arab Club Basketball Championship in 2022. In May 2023, he was a key player when Kuwait Club won the first WASL Gulf League championship. He scored 35 points in the final game!
In 2024, Marcus played for Shabab Al Ahli. He helped them finish second in the 2024 Basketball Champions League Asia. He was even named one of the top five players in that tournament.
Recent Teams
On September 20, 2024, Marcus signed with the Sichuan Blue Whales. This was his second time playing for them, as he was also with the team from 2020 to 2021.
As of April 1, 2025, Marcus Georges-Hunt plays for Al Riyadi in the Lebanese Basketball League. He helped Al Riyadi win the 2024–25 FIBA West Asia Super League. In the championship game, he scored 24 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
