Marcus Holman (born May 2, 1991) is a professional lacrosse player from the United States. He plays for the Boston Cannons in the Premier Lacrosse League. He also helps coach the Utah Utes men's lacrosse team.

Holman played as an attackman for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He was once their top scorer. His family is also very involved in lacrosse. His father, Brian, coached goalkeepers for UNC. His brother, Matthew, was a goalkeeper for the Tar Heels. His mother works for the North Carolina Tar Heels women's lacrosse team. His sister, Sydney, played for that team.

Early Life and High School

Marcus Holman grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He went to Gilman School. In his senior year (2009), his lacrosse team was ranked number one. Marcus was the team's most valuable player and captain that year. He was also a captain for his high school football team.

College Lacrosse Career

Marcus Holman started his college career in 2010. He won the ACC Freshman of the Year award. He later changed his playing position from attack to midfield. His teammates chose him as UNC's most valuable player in 2011 and 2012. He was also named a second-team All-American in 2012.

In 2013, Marcus was again named to the All-ACC team. This was his second time receiving this honor. On April 28, 2013, he became the Tar Heels' all-time leading scorer. He broke the old record of 204 points.

Tewaaraton Award Nominations

The Tewaaraton Award is given to the best college lacrosse player in the United States. Marcus Holman was nominated for this award in both 2012 and 2013. In 2013, 13 other attackmen were also nominated.

Professional Career in Major League Lacrosse

After college, Marcus Holman was chosen by the Ohio Machine in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) draft. He played six seasons and 81 games with the Machine.

In 2017, he helped the Ohio Machine win their first MLL Championship. He was named the MLL Championship MVP (Most Valuable Player) that year. He scored four goals and had two assists in the final game. Marcus finished his MLL career with 208 goals and 87 assists.

Professional Career in Premier Lacrosse League

In 2019, Marcus Holman joined the Archers Lacrosse Club in the new Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). This league was started by Paul Rabil. Marcus was chosen to play in the 2019 PLL All-Star Game.

Before the 2023 season, Holman signed with the Cannons Lacrosse Club. He was named a co-captain for the team.
