Marcus McBride's Skateboarding Journey
Marcus's brother, Lavar, was also a very talented skateboarder. Lavar even got a sponsorship from a company called Blind Skateboards. Lavar would often bring Marcus with him to Los Angeles when he went there to film for Blind. Marcus visited LA many times with his brother. During these trips, the brothers would stay with another famous skateboarder, Rodney Mullen. Marcus remembers Rodney as a "cool dude" who was very kind to them, taking them out to eat and skateboarding with them everywhere.
While in Los Angeles, another skateboarder named Jason Dill saw Marcus skate. Jason started giving Marcus skateboards from a company called 101. Marcus eventually joined the 101 team because he really looked up to the other skaters there. This team included well-known names like Jason Dill, Gino Iannucci, Clyde, and Natas.
