Inspirations and Early Days
When Singleton was young, he was inspired by other African-American skaters like Rodney Smith, Ron Allen, and Steve Steadham. These skaters were not just athletes; they were also creating their own skateboard companies.
Singleton also looked up to the pioneers of street skating, a style that was becoming very popular. He admired skaters like Ray Barbee, Ron Chatman, and Sal Barbier. He even got to meet other famous skaters like Harold Hunter and Keennan Milton at a skatepark in North Carolina.
