Her studies focused on making special chemical structures called aziridines. These are like tiny rings of atoms that are important for making medicines. She found new ways to create these structures. She used special metal helpers, called catalysts, to make the process better.

Career in Chemistry

In 1993, Margaret Faul joined the Eli Lilly company. She worked in their process chemistry group. Process chemistry is about finding the best and safest ways to make medicines on a large scale.

Later, in 2003, she moved to Amgen, another big company. She became an Executive Director there. This means she was a top leader in their process group.

Margaret Faul is an expert in something called Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This is a set of rules to make sure medicines are made safely and correctly. She helps make sure new medicines can be produced in large amounts. She also works with other companies and helps with rules and plans for new medicines.
