Margaret Greville (born around 1561 – died March 26, 1631) was an important noblewoman in England. She held the titles of 6th Baroness Willoughby de Broke and, by right, 14th Baroness Latimer.

Who Was Margaret Greville?

Margaret Greville was born about 1561. She was the youngest daughter of Sir Fulke Greville, who was the Sheriff of Warwick and the 4th Baron Willoughby de Broke. Her mother was Lady Ann Neville.

Her Marriage and Family

On October 29, 1582, Margaret married Sir Richard Verney in Alcester. Sir Richard passed away in 1630.

How She Became a Baroness

Margaret inherited her noble titles in a very unusual way. Her brother, Sir Fulke Greville, who was the 1st Baron Brooke and 5th Baron Willoughby de Broke, passed away in 1628. After his death, Margaret became the 6th Baroness Willoughby de Broke and 14th Baroness Latimer. Her brother's other important title, Baron Brooke, went to a cousin he had adopted.

Her Legacy

Margaret Greville passed away on March 26, 1631. After her death, her noble titles were passed on to her son, Greville Verney.
