Her Career as an Architect

At SOM, she helped design the inside of the National Life and Accident Insurance Company building in Nashville. She also worked on the East Wing addition to the Art Institute of Chicago. This included parts of the School of the Art Institute and the Rubloff Auditorium.

In 1977, Margaret started her own architecture company. Later, in 1982, she teamed up with her husband, Stanley Tigerman. They started their own firm in Chicago called Tigerman McCurry Architects.

Margaret has also been a leader in the architecture world. She was the chair of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on Design. She also served as vice-president for the Illinois chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Some of her projects include the Chicago Bar Association headquarters. She also designed private homes, like a farmhouse on Lake Michigan and a house in Martha's Vineyard. She even updated a modern home in Chicago, which was featured in Architectural Digest magazine.

In 2017, Margaret McCurry and her husband Stanley Tigerman announced they were retiring. They closed their Chicago office after many successful years.
