Maria's Career Journey
Maria Poonlertlarp started her modeling career in August 2016. She appeared on the cover of Vogue Thailand, a famous fashion magazine.
In 2018, she was a special guest on the TV show Asia's Next Top Model (season 6). This show helps young models become successful.

Winning Miss Universe Thailand 2017
Maria Poonlertlarp won the title of Miss Universe Thailand 2017 on July 29, 2017. During the competition, she also won a special award called Boutique Lady. This award came with a cash prize and a free first-class plane ticket.
When asked about challenges for women, Maria spoke about equality. She said that men and women need to work together to make progress. She also shared her goals to help Thailand. Maria wanted to work on topics like helping people experiencing homelessness.
Representing Thailand at Miss Universe 2017
On November 26, 2017, Maria represented Thailand at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. The event took place in Las Vegas, USA. She performed very well and reached the Top 5.
For the national costume part of the competition, Maria wore a special outfit. It was inspired by the Thai story Ramakien. The costume was designed by Prapakas Angsusingha. Maria also learned and practiced khon, which is a traditional Thai dance. She also learned about Hun krabok, a type of puppet art.
Maria's Personal Life
Maria Poonlertlarp follows the Buddhist religion. She volunteers her time to teach English at Duang Prateep. This foundation helps children in Thailand and is supported by the Thai royal family.
