Mariah Stackhouse (born March 4, 1994) is an American professional golfer. She plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Mariah went to Stanford University, where she was a top athlete for four years. She studied communications and helped her college team win a national golf title in 2015. When she was 17 in 2011, she became the youngest African American woman to play in the U.S. Open. In 2014, she made history again as the first African American woman on the Curtis Cup team, which the United States won that year.

Mariah's Early Life and Amateur Golf
Mariah Stackhouse's parents are Ken and Sharon Stackhouse. Her father was an architect, and her mother worked in a hospital.
When Mariah was just two years old, her dad made her a special set of golf clubs. She started practicing with him and loved it. Mariah says, "I guess I developed a liking for the game, I kept practicing, and here I am now." She played in her very first tournament at age six and tied for first place!
Mariah graduated from North Clayton High School in Riverdale, Georgia. She was so popular that she was elected class president two years in a row.
College Golf Achievements
In 2013, during her first year at Stanford, Mariah set a new NCAA record. She shot an amazing score of 61 at the Peg Barnard Invitational Tournament. Her score included a fantastic front nine where she was nine strokes under par.
At the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship, Mariah finished sixth in the individual competition. She also led her team to win the overall team title.
Mariah's Professional Golf Career
Mariah Stackhouse became a professional golfer in 2017. She earned her spot on the LPGA Tour by finishing well in the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. When she made her professional debut in June 2016, she became the seventh African American woman to earn an LPGA Tour card.
In 2018, Mariah had her best professional finish at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, where she placed seventh. The next year, on June 9, 2019, she started in the final group at the same tournament. She finished tied for fifth, which was her career best at that time.
