Marie-Louise Jensen was born in Henley-on-Thames, England. Her father was English, and her mother was Danish. From a young age, she loved reading books.

She studied Scandinavian and German languages and literature. She even lived in both Denmark and Germany for a while. For four years, she taught English at a university in Germany.

Later, Marie-Louise returned to England. She decided to focus on raising her two sons. In 2005, she earned a special degree. It was an MA in writing for young people from Bath Spa University. Today, she lives in Bath and continues to read, review, and write books for young readers.
