Early Life and Acting Career

Marie Harmon was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. She had five brothers. When she was a child, she loved performing in plays at local theaters.

When Marie was 18 years old, she moved to Hollywood, California. This was so she could start a professional acting career. Her very first movie role was in 1943. It was a small part in the film Hers to Hold, which starred Deanna Durbin and Joseph Cotten.

Family Life and Later Years

Marie Harmon was married three times during her life. Her first husband was William G. Jones. They had one child together, an actress named Sondra Currie. Marie and William divorced in 1948.

In 1951, Marie married Donald Currie. After this marriage, she decided to stop acting in movies. Instead, she opened her own clothing store for women. Marie and Donald had three children: twin daughters named Cherie Currie and Marie Currie, and a son named Don Anthony Currie. Cherie Currie later became famous as the lead singer of the band The Runaways. Marie Harmon also became the mother-in-law of Alan J. Levi. She divorced Donald Currie in 1972.

Three years later, in 1975, Marie married Wolfgang Kaupisch. He was a German veteran who passed away in 2010. Marie Harmon herself passed away in Los Angeles on January 25, 2021, at the age of 97.
