Early Life
Mariella Ahrens was born in Leningrad, which is now called Saint Petersburg. Her father was a German computer specialist. Her mother was an ophthalmologist from Bulgaria. Mariella lived in Bulgaria until she was three years old. In 1974, her family moved to Berlin-Friedrichshain in East Germany.
Education
Mariella wanted to study acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. She was not accepted at first. Later, she completed her acting training. She studied at the Fritz-Kirchhoff-Schule in Berlin.
Acting Career
Mariella Ahrens started her acting career on stage. Her first performance was at the Kleine Theater. This theater was located in "Palais Podewils" in Berlin.
She has acted in many television series. Some of these include Leipzig Homicide, Sabine!, and Im Namen des Gesetzes. Mariella also appeared in special TV movies. These include The Desert Rose in 2000. She also acted in The Dreaming in 2001. She has also been in films based on stories by Rosamunde Pilcher.
In 2004, Mariella took part in a reality TV show. It was called "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!". In 2015, she played a character named Walpurga von Schwarztal. This was in the television movie Prinzessin Maleen.

Personal Life
In 1999, Mariella Ahrens had her first daughter. Her name is Isabella Maria. Isabella's father is Dragan Banić. In 2001, Mariella married Jost Paffrath. They separated one year later. Their divorce was finalized in 2004.
On December 12, 2006, Mariella married Patrick Alexander Hubertus Graf von Faber-Castell. They had a civil ceremony in New York City. Patrick was born in Düsseldorf on June 4, 1965. Even though she could use the title "Countess von Faber-Castell," she still uses her name, Ahrens. Mariella and Patrick met in September 2005. This was at a wedding in Vienna. They got engaged in September 2006.
Their church wedding took place on July 7, 2007. It was held at the Martin Luther Church. This church is in Schloss Stein, Stein, near Nuremberg. Patrick Graf von Faber-Castell adopted Mariella's daughter, Isabella. Mariella and Patrick had a daughter together. Her name is Lucia Marie Christina. She was born in Berlin in March 2007. On November 5, 2012, Mariella and Patrick announced their separation. They said it was because they had "different views of life." They divorced in 2015.
