Mariyana Nikolova, born on September 16, 1975, is a politician from Bulgaria. She held important roles in her country's government. She was the Minister for Tourism from July 2020 to May 2021. Before that, she served as Deputy Prime Minister from November 2018 to May 2021.

Her Early Life and Schooling
Mariyana Nikolova was born in Botevgrad, Bulgaria, on September 16, 1975. She studied at several universities and earned multiple master's degrees. She has a master's degree in Law from the New Bulgarian University. She also studied Public Administration at Sofia University. Her third master's degree is in Economic Management from Veliko Tarnovo University.
Her Career in Government
Before becoming a minister, Mariyana Nikolova worked as a lawyer. She was part of the Sofia Bar Association. She helped create new laws for how the government works. She also worked in different government departments. These included the Ministry for the State Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the Ministry of Economy.
In May 2017, Nikolova became a chief of staff. She worked for the Deputy Prime Minister who focused on economic and population policies. She also taught classes at the Public Administration Institute.
On November 21, 2018, the National Assembly chose Nikolova to be Deputy Prime Minister. This role focused on economic and population policies. In August 2019, she also took on responsibilities for cybersecurity. This meant helping to protect computer systems from attacks.
On July 24, 2020, she was also named the Minister of Tourism. This was a very important position for tourism in Bulgaria. Her main goal was to keep tourism going strong. This was especially important during the time of travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. She worked to encourage people to travel within Bulgaria.
