Marjorie Lord (born Marjorie Wollenberg; July 26, 1918 – November 28, 2015) was a famous American actress. She was well-known for her role as Kathy "Clancy" O'Hara Williams. She played opposite Danny Thomas in the popular TV show The Danny Thomas Show, which was also called Make Room for Daddy.

Early Life and Beginnings
Marjorie Lord was born in San Francisco, California. Her father worked as a boss in a makeup company. When she was a young child, Marjorie loved to dance ballet. Her family moved to New York City when she was 15 years old.
Marjorie Lord's Acting Career
Starting on Stage
In 1935, when she was just 16, Marjorie Lord started acting on Broadway. This is a very famous theater area in New York City. Her first play was called The Old Maid. She also appeared in other Broadway shows like Signature and Little Brown Jug.
Even though she became very famous on TV, Marjorie always said she loved the stage most. She felt that stage acting was what she was trained to do. In the 1970s, she performed a lot in "dinner theater" shows. These are plays performed while people eat dinner.
Movies and Films
Marjorie Lord acted in many movies for about 20 years. She often played the main female character.
She signed a contract with RKO Radio Pictures in 1935. Later, she also worked with Universal Studios. She appeared in several feature films and a movie series called The Adventures of Smilin' Jack. Some of her films were made during wartime, like the mystery movie Sherlock Holmes in Washington (1943). She also acted in Western movies such as Masked Raiders and Down Laredo Way. In 1966, she played the wife of Bob Hope's character in the comedy Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number!.
Becoming a TV Star
Marjorie Lord appeared in a 1950 episode of The Lone Ranger. She also acted in other TV shows like The Adventures of Kit Carson and Ford Theatre.
In 1956, a famous actor named Danny Thomas saw her acting. He asked her to join his TV show, Make Room for Daddy. Marjorie took on the role of his wife, Kathy O'Hara Williams. The show then changed its name to The Danny Thomas Show. She played this role until the show ended in 1964. Later, in 1970, Marjorie and Danny Thomas came back for a new show called Make Room for Granddaddy. This show lasted for one season.
Later Years and Achievements
Marjorie Lord continued to be active even after she turned 90. In 2008, she joined a special event called "Salute to Television Moms." This event celebrated famous TV mothers.
Marjorie Lord has a special star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is a famous sidewalk in Hollywood, California, with stars honoring celebrities. Her star was placed there on February 8, 1960, to celebrate her work in television.
Personal Life
Marjorie Lord was married three times. Her first husband was actor John Archer. They were married from 1941 to 1955 and had two children. One of their children is the actress Anne Archer. Her second husband was Randolph Hale, who passed away in 1974. Her third husband was Harry Volk, who passed away in 2000. Marjorie Lord also wrote a book about her life called A Dance and a Hug.
