After finishing her education, Marjorie started working as a clerk. This means she handled office tasks and records for the government.
Family and Publishing
Marjorie Pizer met and married another poet named Muir Holburn. Together, they moved to Sydney. In Sydney, they became involved in a political group that worked for social change. They later left this group because of disagreements about important world events.
In 1947, Marjorie and Muir decided to start their own publishing company. They called it Pinchgut Press. They set up their new business in a spare room at their home. This allowed them to publish books and poems, including their own works.
