Marlborough Lines is a special place for the British Army in England. It's a military base located in Hampshire, near the town of Andover. This site used to be an airfield for planes.
History of Marlborough Lines
Marlborough Lines was built on land that was once part of RAF Andover. RAF Andover was an airfield, a place where military planes took off and landed. It was first set up way back in 1917. The airfield closed down in 2009.
After the airfield closed, the land was used to build Marlborough Lines. In 2011, a very important part of the British Army moved here. This was the Army Headquarters. It's like the main office for the entire British Army. More than 2,000 soldiers and civilian staff work there.
