Marta Verner, born Marta Jandová on April 13, 1974, is a singer from the Czech Republic. She is best known as the lead singer of the German band Die Happy. This band plays a type of music called alternative rock. Marta also represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in 2015. She sang the song "Hope Never Dies" with Václav Noid Bárta.

Marta's Music Journey
Early Performances
In 2005, Marta Jandová performed with a Finnish metal band called Apocalyptica. She also represented the German state of Baden-Württemberg in a music competition called the Bundesvision Song Contest 2005. Her song was "Wie weit," and it finished in 5th place with 77 points.
Winning a Contest
Marta returned to the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2007. This time, she performed with a German rock band named Oomph!. They represented the state of Lower Saxony with their song "Träumst du?" They won the contest with 147 points! Their song also became very popular, reaching the top ten on the German music charts.
Back to Prague
In 2008, Marta moved back to her hometown of Prague. There, she sang in a musical called Mona Lisa. Even though she moved back, she still has strong connections to Germany. In 2009, she hosted a German TV show called neoMusic.
Marta's Family Life
Marta Jandová is the daughter of Petr Janda. Her father is a famous musician and was the longtime leader of the rock band Olympic. Marta lives with Miroslav Verner, who is a gynecologist from the Czech Republic. They have a daughter named Marie, who was born on August 7, 2013.
