Martha Brockenbrough is an American author who writes books for both kids and adults. She writes both fiction (made-up stories) and nonfiction (true stories). Her first book, It Could Happen To You: Diary Of A Pregnancy and Beyond, was published in 2002. She also started The Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar (SPOGG). She is famous for creating National Grammar Day, which has been celebrated in the United States every year since 2008.

Martha Brockenbrough was born in Seattle, Washington. She went to Stanford University and graduated in 1992. At college, she studied Classics, which is about ancient Greek and Roman culture, and English. While she was a student, she was the main editor for the student newspaper, the Stanford Daily.

Before becoming a full-time author, Martha Brockenbrough worked as an editor for MSN.com. She also wrote funny educational articles for Encarta.com, a digital encyclopedia. In 2008, she created National Grammar Day. This special day helps people celebrate and learn about good grammar.
