Martin Sweet's Music Journey
Joining Crashdïet
Martin Sweet became the guitarist for the Swedish rock band Crashdïet in 2002. This happened when the band's singer, Dave Lepard, decided to restart the group with new members.
Early Albums and Challenges
Crashdïet released their first short album, called an EP, in 2003. Their first full album, "Rest in Sleaze", came out in 2005. This album included popular songs like "Riot in Everyone" and "It's a Miracle". Sadly, the band's singer, Dave Lepard, passed away on January 20, 2006.
After this sad event, the band members thought about stopping. However, they decided to continue Crashdïet to honor Dave's memory. Martin Sweet wrote many songs during this time.
New Singers and More Music
On January 21, 2007, Crashdïet announced their new singer, H. Olliver Twisted. They released one album with him, "The Unattractive Revolution". This album featured songs like "In the Raw".
In July 2008, Twisted left the band. Crashdïet then looked for a new singer. Simon Cruz joined in 2009. With Simon, they released the album "Generation Wild" in 2010. This album included the hit song "Generation Wild".
Touring and Latest Albums
In 2011, Crashdïet opened for the famous musician Ozzy Osbourne in Stockholm. The next year, they opened for Mötley Crüe in Helsinki. In January 2013, they released their album "The Savage Playground". This album was very popular and reached number 2 on the Swedish music charts.
Sadly, in January 2014, Crashdïet's manager, Michael Sundén, passed away while the band was on a world tour. In February 2015, singer Simon Cruz left Crashdïet. Even though the band was quiet for a while, Martin Sweet said that Crashdïet was not finished.
Other Music Projects
In 2016, Martin Sweet joined another Swedish band called Sister as a bass player. He also started his own new band, Sweet Creature, where he is the lead singer.
