Marty Embry was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He is married and has two children. His son, Jovan, is also a tall basketball player, standing 6 feet 11 inches (211 cm). Jovan decided to play college basketball for Mississippi Valley State University in 2016. Today, Jovan is also a professional basketball player, following in his dad's footsteps!
Marty and Jovan Embry are cousins of Wayne Embry. Wayne Embry is a famous former NBA player who won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 1968.
