Life After Basketball

After his basketball career, Marty Embry became a successful business owner. An entrepreneur is someone who starts and runs their own businesses. Marty has owned several businesses. One of his most recent was a restaurant called "51 To Go." This restaurant was located in his hometown of Flint, Michigan.

Marty is also a writer. He has written eight cookbooks, sharing his recipes and cooking knowledge with others.

Family Connections

Marty Embry was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He is married and has two children. His son, Jovan, is also a professional basketball player. Jovan is even taller than his dad, standing 6 feet 11 inches (about 211 cm)! In June 2016, Jovan decided to play college basketball for Mississippi Valley State University.

Marty and Jovan are cousins of Wayne Embry. Wayne Embry is a famous former basketball player who won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 1968. It seems basketball talent runs in their family!
