Mary Hazelton Blanchard Wade (born March 23, 1860 – died 1936) was an American writer. She was especially known for writing many books for children. Her stories often taught young readers about different cultures and important historical events.

Mary Hazelton Blanchard was born on March 23, 1860. Her birthplace was Charlestown, Massachusetts. Her parents were Charles Henry and Caroline Cecilia Blanchard.

She went to high school in Malden. After that, she continued her education with private teachers. In 1877, Mary started working as a teacher herself.

On November 14, 1882, Mary married Louis Francis Wade. After her marriage, she became a very busy writer. Mary Wade wrote many books, especially for young readers. She focused on children's fiction.
