Mary Spio's Early Life and School

Mary Spio grew up in Ghana, a country in Africa. She went to high school there at Holy Child High School.

When she was 16, Mary moved to Syracuse, New York in the United States. She went to Syracuse University and finished her studies in 1998. She earned a special degree in electrical engineering. Later, she continued her education at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she studied electrical engineering and computer science even more.

Mary Spio's Career Journey

Mary Spio started her career by serving in the U.S. Air Force for six years. She worked as a technician, handling wideband and satellite communications. This means she helped set up and manage systems that send information using satellites.

After her time in the Air Force, Mary worked for a company that dealt with satellite communications. Here, she got an amazing chance to design and help launch satellites into deep space! This was part of a project with NASA. Later, she became the head of satellite communication systems for a big company called The Boeing Corporation.

In 2015, Mary Spio started her own company called CEEK Virtual Reality. CEEK VR is like a special streaming service for virtual events. Imagine going to a concert or a show without leaving your house!
