María Elena Galiano facts for kids
María Elena Galiano (1928 – October 30, 2000) was an Argentine scientist. She was an arachnologist, which means she studied spiders. María Elena was a top expert in classifying Neotropical jumping spiders. This means she helped name and organize many types of spiders from parts of Central and South America. She worked at the Bernardino Rivadavia Natural Sciences Museum in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sadly, she passed away in an accident on October 30, 2000. A group of spiders, called the genus Galianora, was named after her to honor her important work.
