María Quintanal is a highly successful athlete. She became a world champion in 2003 in an event called Double Trap. This is a type of shooting where competitors aim at two targets released at the same time. Her biggest success came at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. There, she won a silver medal in the Trap event. In Trap shooting, targets are thrown one at a time from a single spot.
