Playing Career Highlights
Masahiro Ohashi was born in Yokohama, Japan, on June 23, 1981. He started his football journey in the youth teams of Yokohama F. Marinos. In 1999, he officially joined the main team of Yokohama F. Marinos, which plays in the top Japanese league, J1 League.
Early Years and Loans
In his first few years, Masahiro played in some matches as a midfielder who helped with attacks. In 2001, he moved to Mito HollyHock, a club in the J2 League (the second division). This move was a "loan," meaning he played for Mito HollyHock temporarily. He became a regular player there, playing in many games.
He returned to Yokohama F. Marinos in 2002. However, he didn't get to play much. Later that year, in August, he went on another loan to Albirex Niigata, another J2 club.
Becoming a Regular Player
Masahiro came back to Yokohama F. Marinos in 2003. He continued to work hard and by 2005, he became a regular starter for the team. In 2006, he moved to Tokyo Verdy, a J2 club, where he played in many matches.
In 2007, he joined Kawasaki Frontale, a J1 League team. For two seasons, he often came into games as a substitute midfielder, helping the team from the bench.
Playing in South Korea
In 2009, Masahiro made a big move to Gangwon FC in South Korea. This was a special moment because he became only the third Japanese footballer to play in the K-League, South Korea's top football league. He scored his first goal in the K-League on May 2, 2009, against Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
Return to Japan and Retirement
In 2010, Masahiro returned to Japan and rejoined Mito HollyHock, the club he had played for nine years earlier. He once again became a regular player for them.
In 2011, he went back to Gangwon FC in South Korea. Unfortunately, he faced an injury and could not play any matches. He left the club in June of that year. In August 2011, he returned to Japan and joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC, a team in the Japan Football League. This club was promoted to the J2 League in 2012. Masahiro Ohashi played until the end of the 2012 season, when he decided to retire from professional football.
