Masaru Uchiyama (内山 勝, Uchiyama Masaru, born April 14, 1957) is a former Japanese football player. He was born on April 14, 1957. He played as a defender. Masaru Uchiyama also played for the Japan national team. His brother, Atsushi Uchiyama, was also a national team player.
Playing for Clubs
Masaru Uchiyama was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he joined a football club called Yamaha Motors in 1980.
During his time with Yamaha Motors, the team achieved great success. They won the 1982 Emperor's Cup in 1982. They also won the 1987–88 Japan Soccer League championship in the 1987-1988 season.
Uchiyama played for Yamaha Motors until he retired from club football in 1989. He played in 122 league games and scored 4 goals for the club.
Playing for the National Team
Masaru Uchiyama also had the honor of playing for the Japan national team. He made his first appearance for the national team on May 26, 1985. This game was against the Uruguay national team. He played one game for Japan.
