Masato Fue (笛 真人, born February 22, 1973) is a Japanese former football player and manager. He played as a forward, which is a player who tries to score goals. He also played as an offensive midfielder, helping to create scoring chances.

Masato Fue's Football Journey

Early Career and Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Masato Fue was born in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on February 22, 1973. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1991. He joined a team called Mazda, which later became known as Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

From 1994, Masato Fue played in many matches for Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He was an important player, often playing as a forward or an offensive midfielder. During his time with the club, they achieved great success.

Club Achievements and Later Years

In 1994, Sanfrecce Hiroshima finished second in the J1 League. This is the top professional football league in Japan. The team also reached the final of the 1995 Emperor's Cup in 1995. The Emperor's Cup is another major football competition in Japan.

By 1998, Masato Fue found it harder to play in matches. He decided to retire from playing at the end of the 1998 season. However, his football journey was not over.

Return as Player-Manager

In 2001, Masato Fue made a comeback to football. He joined a team called Profesor Miyazaki. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. He took on a special role as a player-manager. This meant he played for the team while also being their coach.

Under his leadership, Profesor Miyazaki achieved promotion in 2002. They moved up to the Japan Football League. This was a significant step up for the club. Masato Fue retired from football completely at the end of the 2002 season.
