Tony Young (born in 1961) is better known as Master T. He is a famous Canadian TV and radio host. He also helps promote urban music artists. Master T was born in Leeds, England. He moved to Canada with his family from Jamaica in 1974.

Master T's Early Life and School
Master T grew up in Kitchener, Ontario. He went to Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School. There, he met the person who would become his wife. Later, he studied television broadcasting. He learned about TV at Mohawk College in Hamilton.
Master T's Time at MuchMusic
Master T started working at MuchMusic as a camera operator. He and his wife then created a show called X-Tendamix. This show was about Black music. Later, its name changed to "Da Mix."
As a VJ (video jockey) for MuchMusic, Master T hosted many shows. One of his most famous shows was Rap City. He hosted shows from 1990 to 2001. When he left MuchMusic, the singer Lauryn Hill performed live for his farewell party.
While at MuchMusic, Master T also helped promote music CDs. He promoted the Much DanceMix series of compilation CDs. These CDs sold over one million copies. He received a special award for this success.
Master T's Career After MuchMusic
After leaving MuchMusic, Master T continued to work in music. He started his own series of music compilations. These CDs featured hip hop and reggae songs. They were called Master T's compilations.
In 2014, Master T spoke out publicly. He asked for the "Much" TV channel to be returned to its original owner, Moses Znaimer. Master T has also hosted a radio show called Wall of Sound. This show was produced by CIDC-FM.
Since 2017, Master T has hosted an online show. It is called RX Music LIVE. On this show, he interviews artists and features live performances. Some famous guests have included Wyclef Jean and Kardinal Offishall.
Master T's Awards and Recognition
Master T has received several awards for his work. He was given a Toronto Bob Marley award. He also received a Ghanaian Community Award. Mohawk College, where he studied, gave him an Alumni of Distinction award.
