Matville, Ohio facts for kids
Matville is a small place in Pickaway County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that doesn't have its own official local government like a city or town does.
History of Matville
Matville has a short but interesting history. A post office was opened there in 1889. Having a post office was a big deal for a small community because it meant people could send and receive letters and packages easily. This helped the community grow and connect with other places.
However, the post office in Matville didn't stay open for very long. It closed down in 1902. A few years later, in 1906, about 50 people lived in Matville. This shows it was a very small community, even at its busiest.
