Mo Bradley (born around 1967) is a Canadian filmmaker, producer, writer, and professor. They have made over fifty short films. Their work is known and celebrated around the world.

Early Life and Learning
Mo Bradley was born and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. When they were young, they loved music and sound. They played bass guitar in a band called "Sons of the Desert" in Montreal's underground music scene.
Later, Mo Bradley became interested in editing, film, and media art. Since then, they have been a big part of the independent film community in Canada. Their art has been shown in famous places like the New Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art.
Bradley studied Communications and Media at Concordia University. After moving to Vancouver, they continued their studies at the University of British Columbia. There, they earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production.
Mo Bradley's Career
While Mo Bradley was a bassist in Montreal, they received a grant to make a music video. This made them even more interested in filmmaking. Later, they became a professor of film production at the University of Regina.
In 2002, while in Regina, Mo Bradley became the first female director in the Saskatchewan District Council of the Directors Guild of Canada. After that, they moved back to British Columbia. They became a professor at the University of Victoria, where they still teach film and video.
With a grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Mo Bradley helped create the Hi-Def Story Incubator Lab at the University of Victoria. This lab helps students develop new film projects.
Mo Bradley has been active in the film world across Canada since 1988. Their work often explores different ways people express who they are. In 1992, while directing and appearing in the TV series Road Movies, Mo Bradley became one of the first people to share their personal identity openly on Canadian network television.
Mo Bradley has also helped various film groups in Canada. They were once the president of the Board of Directors for CineVic Society of Independent Filmmakers.
Personal Life
Mo Bradley lives in Victoria, British Columbia.
Growing up, Mo Bradley felt they didn't fit into typical categories of male or female. They identified as androgynous, meaning they had both masculine and feminine qualities. In their 20s, they used the term third gender to describe themselves, which was a way to describe people who don't fit into the usual male/female groups.
In their 1993 film Queer Across Canada, Mo Bradley showed how different parts of Canada used different words to talk about their identity. They were the first person to share their identity openly on Canadian network TV in this way. Since 2015, Mo Bradley has used "they/them" as their pronouns.

Awards and Recognitions
Mo Bradley has won many awards for their film work. Their web series, Freshman's Wharf, won a Leo Award in 2011. Their short film, Pants on Fire, won a Golden Remi Award for Short Film Directing at the Worldfest/Houston International Film Festival.
Mo Bradley's first feature film, Two 4 One, also received many awards and nominations. Mo Bradley was nominated for three Leo Awards for this film, including Best Motion Picture and Best Direction. They were also nominated for two awards at the Vancouver International Film Festival. The lead actor, Gavin Crawford, won an ACTRA Award for his performance.
Also, special shows about Mo Bradley's work have been created in cities across Canada. These shows include Making Scenes (1999) and Out on Screen (1998).
