Maurizio De Jorio (born September 24, 1968) is an Italian music producer and singer from Trento, Italy. He started making music professionally in the mid-1980s.
Like many artists in the Eurobeat music style, Maurizio De Jorio has used several different stage names for various music labels. He is best known for being part of the Eurodance group Max Coveri. With Max Coveri, he helped create popular songs like "Running in the 90s" and "Night of Fire". Both of these songs became super famous because they were featured in the Japanese anime series Initial D. Their appearance in the show helped Maurizio De Jorio and the Eurobeat music style become incredibly popular around the world. Other songs by him used in Initial D include "Speedy Speed Boy", "Stop Your Self Control" (as 'Marko Polo'), "Golden Age", "Take Me to the Top" (as 'D. Essex'), and "No One Sleep In Tokyo" (with Fernando Bonini as 'Edo Boys').
Maurizio's Music Journey
Maurizio De Jorio's music career began in 1987 with his song "In A New World" (released under the name Tom Maurice). In 1991, he joined Polydor Records, which was the start of his Eurobeat journey. His first song where he sang was "Love & Celebration" by David Essex.
In 1992, he started working with Andrea Leonardi, also known as Bratt Sinclaire. Later in the mid-1990s, Maurizio left Polydor Records. He then joined Bratt Sinclaire and helped start a new Eurobeat music label called Delta Music Industry.
